I've been tasked with getting one for my brother.

Criteria

Must be A$300 (~US$230 / UKP120) or less (maybe a little more since I'm in Singapore and might be able to get a better deal at Simlim or Funan etc)
Brand new
Needs to include charger/batteries (or allow for NiMH and a charger)
Memory size isn't a big deal (prefer SD or CF for price though)
3 or 4 megapixels is fine
2x, 3x or 4x optical zoom is fine
Doesn't need to be mega small
Simple to use. Most cheap cameras are auto-everything anyway

I like Canons. Seem to be good value for money generally. A510 maybe?

Suggestions? I'm not really sure where to start. When I bought my camera there were really only two choices since I wanted mega small.

Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually own the SD300 myself (an Ixus 40 in Australia).

However an SD200 (Ixus 30) runs about A$415 back home, so I think I'd be pushing to get one in Singapore under the A$300 mark.

I will have a look though - it's pretty good camera. Low light isn't the greatest but from the tour I just went on, everyone's digital camera seemed to struggle in low light.
